Key responsibilities & impact- Support software configuration management processes and activities
- Maintain configuration records, release baselines, and version information
- Prepare software release packages for distribution
- Verify release contents, associated documentation, and supporting artifacts
- Create and distribute release notifications and release emails
- Compile release notes, change summaries, and supporting documentation
- Maintain release tracking repositories and historical records
- Support audit and compliance activities related to software releases
- Assist in developing and improving configuration management and release processes
- Work closely with the lead Configuration/Build/Release Engineer
- Ensure software releases are accurately packaged, documented, tracked, and communicated to stakeholders
- Ensure development teams have access to current and accurate release information
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience working in a collaborative engineering environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams
- Experience supporting software configuration management, build, or release processes preferred
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle processes and release management practices preferred
- Experience with locomotive controls, transportation systems, industrial automation, embedded systems, or related engineering disciplines preferred
- Familiarity with application software development and/or Model-Based Design (MBD) methodologies preferred
- Experience using MATLAB and Simulink preferred
- Exposure to embedded software development using C/C++ preferred
- Familiarity with Linux-based development environments preferred
- Experience using Git source control tools and workflows preferred
- Familiarity with GitLab, Git Extensions, and related repository management tools preferred
- Experience supporting or interacting with automated build and continuous integration systems such as Jenkins preferred
- Highly detail-oriented
- Strong process and documentation focus
- Effective communicator across technical and non-technical teams
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment
