About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Process Release of Information requests for healthcare clients
Review requestor information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
Securely access pertinent patient data from client EHR systems and approved electronic sources
Respond to phone calls, emails, and secure messages from requesters about ROI issues
Process physician office requests on a priority basis when necessary
Transmit requested information securely via electronic delivery or eFax
Log medical record requests into Exchange Manager
Upload and index electronic medical records into Exchange Manager
Comply with MRO and client facility policies, regulations, HIPAA privacy and security requirements, and remote work and information security policies
Participate in virtual meetings and trainings

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma/GED required
Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician’s office or HIM Department is a plus
Proficiency using computer applications and web-based systems
One or more years experience entering data into computer systems
Experience using the internet is required
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and meet production goals
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience responding to customer inquiries by phone, email, and virtual platforms
Attention to detail
Proven dependability
Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is preferred
Must reside and perform work in Kentucky, Mississippi, New Mexico, or Texas
Private, dedicated workspace meeting MRO privacy and security requirements
Reliable high-speed internet service
Use of MRO-approved equipment and secure access methods such as VPN and multi-factor authentication
