About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a wide range of complex projects across multiple teams and a variety of therapeutic areas
  • Act as a key scientific lead on designated accounts, providing scientific guidance to internal account teams and external clients
  • Provide regular communication on product updates, medical/regulatory milestones, competitor landscape, and the wider healthcare industry
  • Ensure team deliverables align with clients' strategic goals and objectives
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and relevant medical experts
  • Produce client-ready deliverables across a wide range of projects
  • Translate highly technical and scientific data into accessible deliverables for different audiences
  • Oversee scientific team content development and ensure consistent quality and scientific excellence
  • Lead client workshops and thought leadership discussions with healthcare professionals
  • Develop trusted partnerships with Client Services leads for strategic planning, timelines, account management, and resource planning
  • Support financial management, including forecasting and budgets
  • Participate in new business with existing clients and broader business development
  • Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to drive team career development
  • Manage Scientific Services team and individual performance, including training and development of junior writers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Advanced, doctoral level degree within a scientific discipline
  • Demonstrated experience within the medical communications industry
  • Strong expertise in commercial, peer to peer deliverables
  • Previous experience managing a team of medical writers
  • Experience managing complexity
  • The ability to provide coaching and guidance to clients
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Calm under pressure
  • Exceptional scientific writing skills with extensive experience writing across different therapeutic areas and for different target audiences
  • In depth knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards and compliance
