About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Finning's Elk Valley operations
- Align service, parts, supply chain, training, and support functions to achieve business objectives
- Act as the primary relationship owner and trusted advisor for the customer site leadership team
- Drive operational excellence and contract execution
- Lead health and safety initiatives and ensure regulatory and company compliance
- Lead, coach, and develop regional leaders while building a succession pipeline
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, contract management, asset optimization, revenue, and profitability targets
- Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, customer experience, productivity, and cost management
- Partner with labour relations stakeholders regarding unionized employees and representatives
- Maintain a visible presence at mine sites to support employees, customers, and operational excellence
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within mining, heavy equipment, industrial, or related operational environments, including experience leading leaders
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale operations with accountability for safety, financial performance, workforce planning, and customer outcomes
- Strong operational knowledge across service, parts, supply chain, maintenance, and support functions
- Proven experience managing customer contracts, executing operational commitments, and building trusted relationships with key stakeholders
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities with a track record of building engaged, high-performing teams
- Strong business and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, performance management, and strategic planning
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Previous mining industry experience and knowledge of heavy equipment operations, safety management systems, labour relations, and operational best practices are considered strong assets
