Key responsibilities & impact- Develop tools and implement physics-based algorithms and methodologies to automate repetitive system modeling analysis tasks
- Apply fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, propulsion principles, and flight mechanics to create high-fidelity aerospace system simulation tools
- Maintain regression test suites to ensure mathematical accuracy and stability of internal performance codes
- Gather tool requirements by collaborating with Performance & Operability, aerodynamicists, thermal engineers, and flight test teams
- Write, review, and publish engineering reports detailing model architectures, validation data, and analysis results
- Design and develop advanced mechanical systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Drive innovation in mechanical design and product performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Should possess a Masters/Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/Aerospace engineering discipline
- 5-8 years of experience
- Knowledge of system performance preliminary design tools such as NPSS, TMAT, and GasTurb
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, gas turbine performance, and 1D modeling and simulation of dynamic systems
- Knowledge of operation of aircraft propulsion Engine/APU
- Experience using proprietary/commercial gas turbine performance simulation software
- Strong demonstrated skills in MATLAB/Simulink
- MATLAB coding and C, C++, Python, AI/ML frameworks, and Simulink modeling expertise are advantageous
- System thinking and ability to view a problem from a system's perspective
- Familiarity with 6-Sigma and Lean Product development tools and procedures
- Experience with configuration management tools such as GIT, ClearCase, and Bitbucket
- Strong English communication skills, oral and written
