About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
- Achieve personal sales goals and help the store achieve sales goals
- Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installations
- Maintain store product and operational standards
- Perform inventory processes including truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and back stock
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
- Perform general stocking, including truck stocking and back stock
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed
- Work predominantly walking or standing and perform physical tasks including reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Work indoors, with occasional outdoor work and exposure to weather while installing batteries and wiper blades
Requirements
What you’ll need- Entry-level sales position with basic automotive system and parts knowledge
- Good knowledge of store systems, inventory, and maintenance processes
- Basic ability to source parts from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers
- Basic driving and navigation ability
- Ability to use delivery board, inventory, POS, and parts lookup systems
- Safety knowledge and skills
- Parts and automotive system knowledge
- Ability to operate testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services
- Speak and write English; Spanish is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
- Basic math skills using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to work assorted days, evenings, and weekends as needed
- 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Fleet safety certification preferred
