About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish and maintain the publishing catalogue metadata and assets source of truth in asset management software
- Maintain metadata fields including ISWC, ISRC, writer IPI, and chain of title; take new song deliveries
- Deliver portions of the song catalogue to exploitation partners including sub-publishers, synch agents, and other platforms
- Perform quality assurance to ensure catalogue metadata is correct and all titles are registered
- Establish and maintain the writer royalty system, including contractual rates and client payment data
- Lead quarterly royalty runs, including royalty processing, writer statement generation, and associated payment runs
- Establish income-tracking best practices alongside the label
- Maintain communication with exploitation partners
- Lead communication with accountants regarding bookkeeping and taxes
- Assist in planning songwriting camps, including travel planning, scheduling sessions, and A&R decisions
- Explore synch, sheet music, and education/tutorial markets to identify opportunities for the catalogue
- Partner with the Managing Director in exploiting the publishing catalogue
- Future-proof operational best practices and establish new operational procedures
- Respond to client inquiries
- Support business development and A&R
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 2 years background in the music industry (publisher or society preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
- Experience working with large data sets
- Experience with asset management systems (Reprtoir, RightsHub, etc.), royalty payment systems (Curve, Rights’Up, etc.), and/or publisher software (iMaestro) is a plus
- Strategic mindset and confidence working with numbers and data
- Self-starter
- Passion for instrumental music and instinct for identifying long-term artistic value
- Comfortable working digitally across time zones and cultures
- English required
- German very helpful
- Other languages a plus
